Lap Band Process
When the lap band procedure begins, a doctor will make a series of small incisions, then use a tiny camera, called a laparoscope, to visualize placement of the device for the desired Lap Band Result.
The Lap Band is situated around the upper portion of the stomach and secured in place with sutures. The port is then located beneath the skin on the upper portion of the abdomen.
Surgery in most cases for lap band patients usually runs anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and oftentimes an overnight stay in the hospital may not be required.
